CALL or Computer
Assisted Language Learning may be defined as the search for and study of applications
of the computer in language teaching and learning (Levy, 1997, p.1). Dozens of
CALL programs are currently available on the internet, at prices ranging from
free to expensive and other programs are available only through university
language courses.
On the CALL
class I got much knowledge for my teaching practice in the future. I know so
many tools that can be used as my resources or my media that can help my
teaching practice become easier and creative. In this class, I also got
knowledge about how to act through online activities, yeah, I learn about etiquette
when on the internet.
Wherever we are
we will need etiquette for making each other become respect and appreciate each
other, make people seem better and wiser when doing online activities, and make
us being smarter when expressing anything. If on the internet, it is called as
netiquette. Netiquette is etiquette on the internet or in another words is
network etiquette that what should we do and don't of online communication.
When people follow the rules in the netiquette, there will be no
misunderstanding between each person. For more information you can go on the

Beside knowledge
about that, in this class I become more familiar with some new tools which
related with learning process. That tools are compatible for teachers,
students, parents depend on the necessity of the lesson. The tools that is very
interesting for me is lesson plan maker. That tool for arranging a lesson plan
for teacher. It is very easy to use. For more information you can go on the

on the search box. Another tool that is also interesting for me collaborative
writing on Google drive. We don’t need to have a face to face meeting with our
friend for doing an assignment; we can do it on the distance. We can directly
do the editing with our friends and we can save it into word file. Then we can
download it after finishing that assignment. But in this class, I did the
collaborative writing not for being printed, it must be recorded and upload the
video on YouTube.
Beside the
interesting tools, there is also a tool that makes me difficult for doing it. It
is video conferencing using Google Hangout and records it then uploads it into
YouTube. Why it is difficult for me? It is because there are some problems that
appear when do the recording like there is no sound of the result of the video,
or the internet connection become off suddenly, and the video was not smoothly
run. That is why, on that session I have to be more patient. Hehehe
