Nowadays, technology has become a major necessity
our life. We are very dependable on technology for finishing our businesses. Start
from making phone call, traveling distance places, making daily food, and
handling various works. We can use technology at home, in the office, at
schools, and everywhere. For schools, technology today has many benefits for
making the schools grow and develop faster. So, it makes that schools have good
reputation in the society. But unfortunately technology may never be able to
replace human teacher to educate (Wright, 2013). It is only tool that may help
teachers to ease them in educating people.
There are so many tools for students and teachers
that can be used for teaching and learning process. On my previous posts, I
have already given some information related with tools that can be used for
teaching English especially. All of that tools can be applied depend on what we
need. At least, we have tried one or two tools. If we can specifically learn
and try the tools, it will help us to be better preparing to be teachers and
managing the class. Managing the class is very important because a better
classroom management is an important component in creating an effective
classroom environment (Jones, 1996: Manning & Bucher, 2012).
Here we will look at some tools that are available
on the Internet that can help us store students learning progress information,
communicate with students and parents, distribute quizzes, making wikis,
sharing files, building class web, scheduling etc.

Based on the explanation above, tools that I think is
very interesting and easy to use while doing the learning activities in the
classroom are Class grouping, Class Dojo, and Lesson Plan Maker. The first tool
is class grouping. In this tool, you can access in (http://www.aschool.us/random/random-pair.php).
The interesting activity in the classroom is teamwork. To make the member of
team fair, we suggest to all of educator to use this tool. This tool is really
easy to use. The first thing that you should do is visited the link above. Then
select the desired mode: number of groups or maximum group size. Next, enter
the number of groups to create or maximum group size in the box. Select the
distribution mode: balance or maximum. After that, enter a list of student
names, each name on a separate line and load name. Then you can save and share
the teamwork. For the second tool is Class Dojo, this tool is quite same with
Schoology. So, teacher can arrange the activities or the material through
online. The classroom management is very easy to be managed from this tool.
Class Dojo helps teachers to encourage specific classroom student behaviors,
through real-time teacher to students feedback through web and mobile device.
For the last tool that is interesting us is Lesson Plan Maker, you can access
in (http://www.teach-nology.com/web_tools/lesson_plan/).
This tool makes teacher easier to arrange lesson plan for the material and the
activities during class. Just filling the boxes and then teacher can click
generate button after filling the boxes.
Based on those three tools, teacher can apply it for
the class activities that integrated with technology or online tools. For the
first, teacher arranges the materials and its steps on the lesson maker. One of
the activities must be done on online work and in group work. Teacher can
arrange online activities on Class Dojo. But, before do the online activity,
teacher makes the group by opening class grouping tool. Then, the name and
members of each group are uploaded on the Class Dojo. So, students must open
and join on Class Dojo to see their group and then do their tasks. Beside
uploading the list of groups, teacher also upload the instruction of the task,
such as attaching some links to YouTube then students are required to listen
and make a summary based on that video. So, that task focuses on listening and
writing skills. Actually there are many activities that can be arranged on
class Dojo, but that is one kind of example that I think is interesting.
